Visit the City of Ghosts in Hue

7.00 (suggestion time) Pick up at your hotel in Hue and depart to visit An Bang village, a quiet village near Thuan An Beach, where people who are living in preparation for death, known as “thousandth sleep”. This local cemetery, with its brilliantly colored structures built on white sand, stretches along the side of the road for 3 kilometers. The locals call it “City of Ghosts”. “City of ghosts” always makes tourists shocked by regal stone lions abound and glittering mosaic dragons that adorn the roof-ridges. In this cemetery, there are tombs that have been demolished and rebuilt again and again just because they are “not as big and beautiful as others”. The latter must be built more beautifully and more expensively than the former is the opinion of many people.

After a few hours of visiting An Bang cemetery, we move to the next stop: Phu Dien Champa Tower which has been buried for nearly 1000 years, visitors can learn about Cham culture remaining in Hue province. The tower was accidentally discovered in 2001 by an ore mining unit. This unique ancient tower was buried 5-7 m deep in the sand, 3-4m lower than sea level and only 120m from the sea’s edge. Currently, the building is preserved on-site in a greenhouse to minimize the negative impacts of the natural environment.

The next destination is the ancient village of My Loi owns a system of worship and communal houses built hundreds of years ago. Come here, you may understand more about the folk worship culture, and explore the local market where you will be curious about agricultural products. The tour guide will take you through the reality of normal human life of people in Hue, a simple and even some are austere.

The last stop will be for lunch and rest at Vinh Hien Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand with calm waters, making it perfect for a relaxing meal. You will taste dishes made from fresh local seafood together with a cool cold beer on the beach. You can bring your swimming suits for a beach time at this stop.

Our car will take you back to the city and drop you off at your hotel around 16.00.
